Author Van G. Garrett: Juneteenth Story Time

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Lone Star College-CyFair Library

Description

Join us for a live, in-person story time with award-winning author Van G. Garrett, as he reads from his newest book, Juneteenth, a lyrical picture book about our newest national holiday. Juneteenth follows the annual celebration in Galveston, Texas—birthplace of Juneteenth—through the eyes of a boy coming to understand his place in Black American history in a story from three Texan creators.

An audience Q & A and book signing will follow the event. Blue Willow Bookshop will be present to sell copies of the book, but we will also be doing some giveaways.

Note: Space is limited, so please request a free ticket upon arrival.
