We did lots of little projects with it, including acting out our favorite scenes, and my group was so enthusiastic that our performance went over the time limit! Once we were done with the unit, I went straight to the school library and read the rest of the series on my own. A truly imaginative and vivid exploration of a post-apocalyptic world and how it came about from the perspective of the children raised generations after the collapse. Show less

I asked one of my friends about it and she said it was "The Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan, and that I'd definitely like it. I snagged myself a copy and absolutely adored it, devoured the rest of the series that was published at the time, and anxiously awaited each new installment. When Robert Jordan died with the series unfinished in 2007, I sat at my library desk and cried over not knowing the ending. Luckily he had told his widow the end of the story and she had Brandon Sanderson finish it. The final book in the series was released in 2013, and as many may know, the first season of the TV adaptation was released in 2021 on Amazon, with season 2 coming soon!" Show less
